Day 1: Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls is one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, and the world's largest sheets of falling water. All year round, flights can be taken in a fixed wing aircraft, micro lights, ultra lights or helicopters.

For a thrilling and world class experience, white water rafting down the tempestuous Zambezi River proves to be unforgettable. For bungi jumping enthusiasts, take the dramatic plunge from the Zambezi Bridge, which connects Zimbabwe to Zambia. There is also the option of abseiling in the Batoka Gorge, an experience not for the faint hearted.

Your first day of backpacking in Africa is spent at your leisure, giving you a chance to enjoy these amazing activities available. Breakfast is included.

Day 2: Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park, Botswana

This morning your Africa backpacking tour departs after breakfast. You travel across the Zimbabwe border into Botswana where you set up camp for the night. The rest of your day is spent exploring the area and relaxing on the banks of the Chobe River.

Chobe National Park is Botswana's second largest Park, and is renowned for its large concentration of Elephant around the Chobe River. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 3: Chobe National Park, Botswana

You start your day early, preparing for your morning game drive in the Chobe National Park. Later in the afternoon you have the option of taking part in a boat cruise along the Chobe River. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Days 4: Chobe National Park to Maun, Botswana

Today the backpacker tour travels south west to the city of Maun, the base before the start of your optional excursion into the Okavango Delta. You spend the day on a long drive, with lunch along the roadside. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

The Delta is a massive expanse of water, traveling from the Angolan highlands and spreading out to form the largest inland Delta in the world. The Delta is home to an abundance of bird life, as well as other animals unique to Southern Africa.

Day 5: Okavango Delta, Botswana

On day 5 of your Africa backpacking tour you have the opportunity to take the optional 3 day/2 night excursions into the Delta. On this excursion the tour travels for about 1-2 hours north to the Mokoro polers station. You will then hire mokoros (dug out canoes), which are poled by local guides through the winding waterways.

Your guides will select a place to set up camp. You will also enjoy a game walk in the afternoon, the ideal way to discover the Delta wilderness. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 6: Okavango Delta, Botswana

Today you can partake in many activities including game walks, mokoro cruises, swimming and even a chance to pole your own mokoro. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 7: Okavango Delta to Maun, Botswana

Today you will get your last chance to go on a morning game walk before you pack up camp and set off to Maun. After you arrive back in Maun in the early afternoon, have the option of taking part in a scenic sunset flight over the Delta region. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 8: Maun to Rundu, Namibia

The backpacker tour departs from Maun and heads south west along the Kavango River to the northern region of Namibia. The tour re-stocks in Rundu before heading to your campsite for the night.

Your campsite is located on the banks of the Kavango River and boasts open air facilities and the occasional Hippo grazing on the lawn. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 9: Rundu to Etosha (Namutoni), Namibia

Today the backpacking tour arrives at the Etosha National Park in the late afternoon. Etosha is a premier nature reserve in Namibia, and is home to a large variety of bird and mammal species. A special feature of the Park is the floodlit waterhole at both Namutoni and Okakujo.

Evenings can be spent sitting on the viewing bench watching the game go about the daily lives at the water hole. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 10: Etosha, Namibia

You enjoy another full day of game viewing as the tour travels across 150 kilometres of park, from the east to the west. Your night is spent at leisure around the amazing waterhole. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 11: Etosha to Cheetah Park, Namibia

Today you take a short drive to the Cheetah Park, a private farm where you can learn about the conservation of Cheetah's in Namibia. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 12: Cheetah Park to Spitzkoppe, Namibia

A day’s drive on your Africa backpacking tour takes you to Spitzkoppe, a rock formation, and one of Namibia's most recognizable landmarks. Explore the wonder of the bushman paintings and the surrounding area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.
