9 day Kruger and Kwazulu Safari. Johannesburg to Durban

Day 6: St Lucia - 370km

This morning on the African backpacking tour you will make your way to St Lucia, a world heritage site. You have the option of going on a sundowner cruise on lake St Lucia or simply relaxing on the beautiful beach. Overnight at Shonalanga or similar. Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 7: St Lucia

You’ll head out early this morning for a game drive in Hluhluwe/ Umfolozi National Park, home to the largest population of Black and White Rhino in the world. Enjoy some close up encounters with game in this well known reserve.

Then you’ll return to St Lucia where you have more time to do optional activities such snorkelling at Cape Vidal beach, an open vehicle game drive in Cape Vidal reserve or a visit to the cultural village. Overnight at Shonalanga or similar. Packed Breakfast.

Day 8: Umhlanga Rocks

After breakfast you will travel to Umhlanga Rocks. You are free to enjoy the day on the nearby beach or explore Durban and the surrounding area. Overnight Umhlanga City Lodge or similar. Packed Breakfast.

Day 9: Umhlanga

After breakfast this African backpacking tour ends.
